Excellent matériel. Je recherchais un latop dont le firmware est opensource et dont le système Qubes OS est opensource et protège la vie privée. Novacustom je vous suggère de ne pas créer un des mots de passes PIN avec les lettres de l'alphabet (ABCD...) et un clavier AZERTY un PC portable équipé d'un clavier azerty et d'un dongle Nitrokey car les mots de passes PIN de Nitrokey sont uniquement compatible avec les chiffres (1234456...) d'un clavier azerty. Si vous avez reçu un latop azerty avec le dongle Nitrokey et un clavier azerty, vous devez modifier les PIN dans le Terminal de la machine virtuel sys-usb et creer des PIN qu'avec des chiffres pour éviter tout problèmes de PINs non reconnu. Je me suis fait aider de l'iA Grok pour modifier les PINs.

AI hackers of the future have no chance against this laptop. Good Luck Palantir with this one. Fast, quiet and modular. I like it a lot. Qubes without the right machiene is not the full qubes experience.

Wie gewünscht eingerichtet. Etwas gewartet und auf eine (nebensächliche) Frage keine Antwort erhalten. Ansonsten sehr glücklich mit dem neuen Gerät.

Ik bestelde een V56 Coreboot met 64GB Ram en 6TB SSD met Debian Trixie voor-geïnstalleerd. Alles werd vlot en correct geleverd. Na ingebruikname heb ik nog slechts 1 keer contact gehad met support over het feit dat de laptop 2 van de 3 keer 1 tot 2 minuten bleef hangen tijdens het boot-proces. Een bug in Coreboot, die waarschijnlijk ergens dit jaar wordt opgelost met de volgende release van Coreboot. Was dat dan voldoende om 4 i.p.v. 5 sterren toe te kennen? Nou, nee, maar er was nog iets. Mijn bestelling werd zonder aanbellen gewoon voor de voordeur gezet. Ik was gewoon thuis maar DHL nam niet de moeite om aan te bellen. Dat de laptop er was zag ik later die dag aan de email met het afleverbericht. Deze handwijze bij een toch wel kostbare bestelling is de hoofdreden waarom ik niet 5 maar slechts 4 sterren toeken.

Everything is great so far. I love the laptop and qubes OS. Tristin was very helpful. Only hiccup was the shipping process but once I got the laptop I really like it.

Hello! I'm not understand why in laptop for $3000 don't have Capslock indicator ligth on/off. How I know what letter know is swich on? Also, why I can't choose the quantity of USB-ports? In my old Asus laptop for $300 has 3 USB-ports.. so why here only 2 USB-ports?

Na mijn bestelling kreeg ik de geconfigureerde laptop al na drie dagen thuis. Ruim voor mijn verjaardag maar en stemmetje in mij liet me toch even de hardware controleren en ja hoor. Een DOA (Dead On Arrival). De volgende (maandag) ochtend contact opgenomen met NovaCustom via Whatsapp en vrij snel kwam er een plan. Deze laptop moest ik direct maar retourneren met een retourbon en NovaCustom zou direct een nieuwe laptop samenstellen en opsturen. Drie dagen later was alles voor elkaar en ging de nieuwe goede laptop weer in de doos in afwachting van mijn verjaardag. Met een strikje erom :-)

Ich habe den Notebook am vierten Tag per Spedition bekommen. Die Windows Codecs installiert, rebootet und dann läuft das Gerät schnell und zuverlässig. Besonders der Boot Vorgang. Danke an novacustom.

Overall I am very pleased with the laptop and it's performance for the price. It looks stunning and I have had no issues thus far with it. I run both windows and Ubuntu and both have been pretty seamless to get set up. I will say though that the bios is the most basic and featureless part of the process. I am normally used to tuning the bios for a week or so to get as optimal of performance out of the hardware before solidifying a linux distro/finalizing driver sets, but there really are no options to do so in this case. It's not a problem really just was not expecting it. The laptop though has been a breeze to work with and has been fantastic to use hybrid graphics. I run pretty demanding workloads on a day to day basis and usually only expect about 3 hours of usable battery life out of a 14", but I get about 5 hours after tuning my linux distro which is pretty solid when it is handling renders, modeling, numeric computations, and image editing all simultaneously. Out of the box though I was only getting 2.5 hours on linux. With windows I get about the expected 3.5 hours of battery life. Would recommend to anyone else as long as the prices stay similar considering I got custom logo and engravings. Just be ready to wait a long time if you are shipping to the US, though their team assured me they are working on speeding up that process so things may be different in the future.

I ordered a V56 with all the security features. I am in awe at how user-friendly they were able to make it considering the difficulties in on-boarding users to complex technologies; especially when they involve security. I would recommend this company if you're looking for a secure computing experience.

Ich bin sehr zufrieden mit der Auswahl, die man beim Zusammenstellen des V56 Laptops hat, da Open Source Software hier Standard ist und aktiv gefördert wird. Das trägt erheblich zur Nutzerfreundlichkeit, Freiheit, Sicherheit und Privatsphäre bei. Bei Fragen wurde zügig geantwortet. Und dass die Super Taste nicht mit dem Windows Logo, sondern mit dem Logo des ausgewählten Betriebssystems bedruckt ist, ist einfach der Hammer XD.

Ich habe bereits meinen vorherigen Laptop bei NovaCustom bestellt, der ist leider einem Unfall zum Opfer gefallen. Die Einrichtung beider Betriebssysteme ist sauber und läuft ohne Probleme, und da es in diesem Fall auch um Datenrettung ging, war es relative einfach, die alte Festplatte in den neuen Laptop einzusetzen und die Daten des alten Laptops zu retten. Es gab nur ein kleines Manko: Die Standardeinstellung unter Linux für den Rechtsklick mit Multi-Touch ist ungewöhnlich, evtl. sind mehr User den typischen Rechtsklick auf dem Touchpad gewohnt. Mit der Leitsung der Hardware bin ich zufrieden, aber im Normalfall reize ich die Leistung auch nicht aus.

The foremost reason to buy this the NovaCustom V54 notebook was coreboot. Unfortunately does the Dasharo implementation not seem to be very stable as it is not possible to update the firmware via fwupd as documented here: https://docs.dasharo.com/unified/novacustom/firmware-update/ As NovaCustoms sales pitch is security I must say they fail to deliver it.

I ordered a V56 from NovaCustom, and after using it for less than two weeks, I can confidently say it's the best computer I've ever owned. The customization options are excellent, and I have recommended it to people I know in real life. Thank you for all the work you've done.

Novacustom sent me a laptop with a non-functioning webcam. I sent it back for a refund upon discovery of the defect three days after receiving it, which is in line with their policies, which is supposedly a "no questions asked" return if made withing 14 days. I was made to pay $400 to return the defective machine, despite it being broken when I received it. Once they received the laptop, they refused to give me a full refund since the webcam didn't work. tldr; Novacustom sent defective merchandise and refused to refund my money even though I returned the machine well within the return window.
