It really is better then I expected. From researching, I could see novacustom was customer focused and very good at service delivery. They were excellent at handling my delivery query and other queries and you can see attention to detail everywhere you look when looking at the laptop, the service, etc Everything from ordering, to customising to delivery, to the end product feels like customer first is a priority. The laptop (nv41) itself surpasses my expectations. I didnt like the light baby blue color and look. I thought it was maybe purple-ish. Either way, wasnt too much of a fan, but I bought it for other reasons. The look in real life is much better then I thought. But the really great thing is the laptop is built for the user and optimised for a free OS (linux bsd etc). I love the dasharo core boot. SOO easy to update the firmware. Everything works great and I find the hardware support and linux integration better then my lenovo e14 gen5 laptop. I still prefer the look of the lenovo though. But that's very minor and not worth the difference for me. I also prefer the keyboard of the lenovo, but this one is fine. I guess, it would be nice, if the hard drive bay was easy to access. Its still easy now, but one needs to remove the whole back cover. It would be nice if it was even easier, so I can swap the hard drive frequently and try different OS'es on the machine quickly. I shopped around but in the end, I'm happy with buying through them and wish them luck.

I discovered the NovaCustom while poking around for Linux laptop first inspired by the likes of System76 and Framework. I visited a number of companies websites. The first thing about NovaCustom is that I find their website amongst the most readable, complete and well designed - other websites tended to hand, failed to find offers or where "cheap" on information front. Second important thing that I verified is that they offer reasonable pricing - especially for auxiliary products like disks and memory. I checked should I get a laptop with lowest spec and buy ram locally or get them from NovaCustom and it turned out that the price was competitive it was not worth the hassle to buy locally. Contact was also pretty nice, I had some concerns about suspend details and dasharo features - I received a competent and enticing response - which eventually led me to purchase. The offer is quite impressive , for example free shipping around the world - not very common I would say. The out of the box warranty of 3 years is also extraordinary - here in Poland 1-2 years is standard anything else is extra paid. The shipping time was also top notch. Declared assembly time 2 days, actual 1,5 ( till 11 next day ). Website estimated total delivery time was also meet. It is important to note that request was made on 15 december a "busy" to say the least time of the year. The package was well secured, laptop charged and configured as requested. The device exceeded my expectations. Since receiving, I only had chance to test battery life - this is also point for NovaCustom for honesty. Website states 7 hours of battery life and it is the least you can get ( assuming rationing the power usage ). I managed 8 hours. From what I could test so far everything is perfect. I can only assume the rest of the promises will be met ( although I would prefer not to test the waranty :) )

From the customer service provided to the quality of the laptop they built for me, I wish every experience in my life was as good. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another laptop from this company. I'm very happy.

This was the best ordering experience ever. Thursday evening I ordered online. I customized all that I could. custom logos on windows key, bios and even on he laptop case. Friday they shipped. Thursday the week after I received it! Everything worked perfectly. And the customization looks perfect

De website is zeer intuïtief en snel. Mijn laptop (NS51PU) voldoet aan alle eisen, al had ik wel graag een functie gehad waarmee hij automatisch zou stoppen met opladen op een bepaald batterijniveau. De wifi is ook heel traag wanneer hij geen perfect signaal heeft. Voor de rest is hij stevig, licht, snel, ... perfect voor mijn gebruik en zelf nog upgradebaar.

Der Laptop wurde, wie von mir gewünscht, zusammengestellt und läuft einwandfrei. Lieferung und Verpackung war perfekt. Eine Frage wurde vom Service sehr schnell und freundlich beantwortet.

Je remercie Wessel et NovaCustom, pour la disponibilité et la réactivité pour répondre à toutes mes questions, avant l'achat du portable. J'apprécie les multiples possibilités de customiser la machine avant de commander. J'ai ainsi choisi le modèle, série NS70, qui correspond parfaitement à mes besoins. Le produit reçu est arrivé dans les délais, parfaitement bien emballé, et il correspond exactement a ce que j'attendais. Ses performances sont impressionnantes et j'aime que cet appareil dispose d'un service de mise à jour des pièces sur une longue période de temps.

The battery overheated on occasions, the fan command was working great and I found a way to make battery not overheat anymore. I'm satisfied with the results, the looks and the functions. Good job!

Fast delivery. Configuration is as ordered. Default wifi is a bit weak. I wish I would have an upgrade option.

Strak vormgegeven website met dito laptop-configurator (vrijwel alle hardware opties die je je kunt wensen). De laptop zelf ziet er goed uit, voelt degelijk aan en is gebouwd zoals besteld. Voor de privacy-enthousiastelingen: de NV41 laptop is Qubes OS certified. Voordeel: zekerheid dat de laptop Qubes OS goed ondersteunt en met elke Qubes OS bestelling wordt het project financieel gesteund. Twee verbeterpunten/wensen. 1) De optie "tamper-evident-schroeven en -verpakking": er wordt momenteel geen foto naar de klant gestuurd van de schroefgaten voorzien van glittersubstantie. Hierdoor heeft deze optie minder toegevoegde waarde (optie-uitbreiding met foto versturen staat voor in de toekomst wel op de planning). 2) Het zou fantastisch zijn als Heads toegevoegd wordt voor meer security (dit staat mogelijk voor in de toekomst op de planning). Afsluitend: NovaCustom is met hun uitgebreide reeks aan (privacy-vriendelijke) opties een verademing in de huidige markt. Voor een volgende laptop weet ik waar ik moet zijn.

I was pleased with the responses to my questions and the updates I received after I placed the order. I was slightly disappointed when I was told the shipping would be delayed one day. However, I was pleasantly surprised when it arrived only three days later - I live in Idaho, USA so that was quite a feat. The laptop was all it was advertised to be and I am very happy with it. J'ai découvert NovaCustom en regardant sur le site de Coreboot dans la partie dédiée aux utilisateurs. Ce vendeur était listé comme proposant des laptops configurables compatibles Linux et proposant Coreboot à la place d'un BIOS classique. Après avoir comparé avec plusieurs autres vendeurs j'ai finalement acheté un portable modèle NS51 chez NovaCustom et j'en suis très content. Coreboot fonctionne très bien et il permet de désactiver facilement le Intel Management Engine. La machine est arrivée rapidement, parfaitement emballée dans un triple carton de protection. Elle est stable, très rapide avec un i7-1260P, le châssis est de bonne qualité et l'écran a des bordures très fines. C'est parfait. Les seuls points que je regrette sont: 1) La présence d'un port USB-A 2.0 sur le côté droit. Pourquoi ne pas avoir mis un port USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 comme sur le côté gauche ? 2) La présence d'un lecteur de carte Micro-SD dont je n'ai pas l'utilité. Pour mon utilisation il aurait mieux valu un port USB-C supplémentaire. Mais ce sont des points mineurs et je suis très content de mon achat.

Site très bien conçu. Ordinateur commandé le 30/04/23, reçu le 05/05/23 Communications en français. Le matériel me satisfait pleinement: léger et clavier très agréable. J'ai changé de distribution Linux (EndeavourOS) sans trop de problèmes.

I worked with Wessel for a few months as he rolled out Qubes support. He was always very helpful and creative. The laptop arrived promptly and well packaged. The case is sturdy. The hardware seems to be functioning correctly. I'm very happy with it.

J'ai découvert Novacustom en 2019 et lui ai acheté un premier PC. Très agréablement surpris de découvrir un fournisseur qui cherche vraiment à vous proposer de la qualité et à vous rendre service, plutôt que de vous refiler sa marchandise à tout prix, j'ai renouvelé l'expérience en 2021 pour équiper le bureau d'un proche. Toujours rien à signaler d'autre que de l'excellence. Cela explique que je n'ai pas hésité une seconde en 2023 pour lui faire confiance à nouveau. Une fois de plus, j'ai obtenu très rapidement ce que je souhaitais (y compris l'installation parfaite d'une distribution de Linux peu demandée). Je recommande donc chaudement ce distributeur à toute personne désireuse de s'offrir un bon PC portable, avec un vrai service après-vente compétent et disponible.

De bijgeleverde instructies over instellen UEFI-BIOS was goed en update om de keyboard verlichting in te stellen onder linux ook. Ik draai debian-11, installeren via wifi ging niet, dus volledige pakket (debian met gnome desktop) in ISO format via ventoy geinstalleerd. Na wat zoeken WiFi was vrij snel uitgevonden om actief te krijgen, Bluetooth lukte niet. Uiteindelijk hielp het om met sudo apt install isenkram-cli. Windows-11 draai ik in VMware versie 16, zonder problemen en snel genoeg. Verder draai in nog een debian-11 virtueel, hierop GNS3 geinstalleerd. Gaar super goed allemaal. Note, Ubuntu gaat meteen goed met wifi en bluetooth maar ik ben debian fan.

(PD50 Series 15.6 inch high-end laptop) Coté performances, qualité écran, c'est de très bonne qualité. Ventilateur un peu présent, mais c'est compréhensible vu les perfs et pas gênant pour moi. Idem pour le poids. Carte son de bonne qualité. après plusieurs mois d'utilisation, je relève 2 défauts, dont un gênant si on veut fonctionner sous linux, et l'autre qui sera sans doute corrigé par une mise à jour. le défaut majeur (l'interprétation du comportement est personnel, donc à relativiser et croiser avec d'autres sources) vient du hardware et de son intégration linux. Les fonctions réseaux (toutes) sont liées au pilote nvidia censément graphique. Toute mise à jour de la partie graphique se solde par une réinstallation système globale puisque qu'on se retrouve bloqué (pas de réseau donc pas de retour arrière). cela fait deux fois que cela m'arrive, et je trouve hallucinant de mêler les 2 pilotes/fonctions. Je précise que sans être un expert linux je n'ai rien d'un débutant, et c'est la première fois que je perd le réseau en mettant à jour la partie graphique et vais encore devoir réinstaller. le second défaut est probablement un souci de bios ou assimilé, impossible de démarrer le pc si il est connecté au secteur. Déconnecté (donc batterie pas en charge) plus de souci, et on peut remettre en charge une fois le pc démarré.
