Unclear rules for Warranty returns, but handled well
I ordered a soldering station, Hakko FX-888D, and it was delivered ok. This was voted the best soldering station by many, so I had high hopes.
The station seemed to work, but after about 40 minutes of use, the tip temperature dropped, and the tip could no longer melt solder.
I have had a conversation with customer service, and after many rounds they thought I should send the station back to them.
The return is not free, even though the website stated it was. The website has now been updated to reflect this.
The customer service representatives were helpful.
