Great holiday

We stayed for 2 weeks and fell in love with Holland. Duinrell was lovely and staff very friendly. We stayed in a premium duinaglow and it was great for a family of 5. Unfortunately we all found the beds OK, sheets never stayed stayed on. Our double bed was just 2 single beds pushed together and the mattresses moved. I was told this is normal across Europe. I have stayed in France, Spain and Italy and never had this. The park itself was great, supermarket very handy. The bar was a bit tacky and the restaurants just ok. Overall a great time was had, Wassanaar the adjacent town is really lovely, public transport links are great to get anywhere you need!

We had a wonderful experience

We stayed in a Duingalow and it was great, had all the mod cons and even a TV with CBeebies which helped my little girl when she needed downtime. The park was really fun and we spent lots of time exploring the different lands. We really enjoyed the indoor pool, unfortunately we felt that the outdoor pool was too crowded and definitely needed a good clean! We felt that buying food/snacks in the park was a little expensive but luckily we were able to do self catering in the duingalow. The theme park/pool/plaza were quite a walk from where our accommodation was so we felt that with little legs it would be nice to have a train or something that goes around the park. The staff and everybody we came across were all very friendly and welcoming.

Cattle market

Firstly the positives, theme park had some good rides, indoor water park has some good slides, playgrounds are large. Surrounding town is nice and enjoyed cycling with the family to nearest station to visit Amsterdam. Negatives, no organisation in theme park, usually one attendant on a ride, safety not a priority. One attendant was eating an ice lolly whilst loading children into a ride, not professional. Outdoor water park is freezing. My 6 year old broke her upper arm in one of the playgrounds, one of those things. However when we went to report it to reception as surely you need to keep record of these things (potentially many accidents in a year on same piece of equipment-maybe change it), no one was interested, didn’t even ask if our child was okay. We spent roughly £250 a night on an outdated caravan with no shade, so couldn’t eat outside most of the week and you don’t even get a towel included in the price. Forget having your bed made.

Fantastic 5 days of fun!

We stayed in a safari tent which was spacious and clean, the free access to both the theme park and Tiki water park was great.

Fun for the whole family

The attractions are fine, but there are queues at the weekend. However, I must highlight the cleanliness of the environment - from the camping sites to the clean toilets and showers. There was no litter anywhere. I recommend.

Enjoyable week camping at Duinrell

Clean shower and toilet area. Park was clean and tidy although a couple of rides were closed. Had a great time in the water parks.

Rat

While we enjoyed many aspects of our time there, there were lots of issues too. There were overflowing bins outside our lodge tent, we had a rat in the lodge tent and neighbours who were making noise very late at night and early in the morning. I can't see my review that the park requested on leaving does not show here, indicating that the hide negative reviews

Really good

We had a lovely stay and planning on making this an annual holiday for my family. There is so much to keep the kids entertained. The one thing we found a bit frustrating was the camping lodge we stayed in was right behind a cesspit which was at times unpleasant. The facilities are good with one exception, the floors are way to slippery in the showers and the changing rooms. This can definitely be an area of improvement because it can get dangerous at times, especially with kids.

Loved it!

We had a great holiday here. Stayed in a comfort duingalow with our dogs. It would have made such a difference to have basics provided such as soap and filters for coffee machine but the shop was close by so we sorted it. Kids loved the water slides and the and free access to the amusement park and the setting was lovely.

Always delivers and entertains

Fantastic fun packed holiday for all the family. Youngsters, teenagers and parents alike. Our 4th time and it didn't disappoint! Wassenaar is lovely, beach 4k away by bike. And with culture in Amsterdam and the Hague only 30mins away. One of our favourite holiday destinations!

Fun

Kids enjoyed the theme park and tiki bad and we joined them at various points of the holiday. There is a lot to do. We enjoyed the surrounding area and the cycling was great. There is a pannekoek place about 15km round trip which the kids enjoyed cycling to. Also a cheese farm. The town of Wassenaar is only a short walk away, where there is great shops, restaurants, a fab ice cream place and great farm market on the Tuesday. Showers and toilets for camping can perhaps be cleaned more often and whilst the cycling rental place is great value for money, they were less than helpful when the valve on one of their quad cycles broke. It was severely rusted. No apology, no refund, just a shrug of the shoulders.

Great place for young families

The whole family really enjoyed our time at Duinrell. I would highly recommend it to other families. It is in easy reach of cities such as Amsterdam and Den Haag, so ideal for day trips. However, we did feel the bedrooms in the O'Hara Dungalows to be a little small.

Amusement park, waterpark and activity park all combined to make a fantastic holiday!

Excellent customer service. Very straightforward booking and checking in experience. Loved being able to hire bikes onsite. All the staff onsite were very helpful. Reported a leak one day and one of the maintenance team were up to fix the problem within an hour. Great holiday!

Fab for the kids!

We had a great week at Duinrell. The theme park and swimming pools are amazing for kids age 4-12, and we loved the magic show. There’s some lovely stuff to do around the area - we loved Wassenaar beach and went to Amsterdam for the day. The beds were really uncomfortable in our Duingalow, especially the double which was actually two shiny mattresses that keep slipping and sliding away from each other. And the app is not easy to use, especially at Duinrell itself as the WiFi is a bit rubbish. But overall, we had a great time!

Great family holiday.

Came here 25 years ago with my children. Now here with grown up daughter and grandson. Certainly grown in that time. Still has the the charm for the younger ones, but lots more for the older ones to do. We camped. Was very busy but very friendly and nice. Campsite facilities very good. Lots of English people so word is getting out. Amazing value for money and lots more to do when compared with Center Parcs. A visit to Leiden and Wassenar a must. Lovely dutch towns. Lovely Dutch people.

Fantastic duingalows but a bit short on utensils

Very helpful friendly staff A great situation in lovely forest. A bit surprised that most of the rides only appeared to have one member of staff in attendance unless one had gone for a break.?

A fun family adventure

We had an enjoyable trip as a family of 4 staying in a lodge tent. The accomodation was as described, it was clean and had everything we needed. The facilities were excellent. The app made it easy to see what activities were available daily. Swimming was easy to book. All areas were clean and queues were reasonable. Night time noise was loud where our accomodation was. Food choice at the plaza was limited and costly.

Great family holiday

This is our third visit to Duinrell with our children each and every time they have enjoyed it just as much as the first the quality of the comfort lodges we’re amazing and just right for our visit. The only thing I would comment on and the reason for Not giving 5 stars was one visit to the tiki bad we did the 8-10pm slot lots of seemingly drunk adults shouting and being loud the place seemed dangerous and overcrowded. By 9 it had quietened down but it seemed 8-9 the lifeguards had little chance of controlling the crowds one just shrugged at me almost stating they had no control and it is was it is. Once the crowd quietened down at 9 they relaxed and starting blowing whistles again.

Terrible

We received a few emails before we travelled from Duinrell assuring us the refugees would not cause us any issues. I found this very strange. I mean, why would they cause us any issues? So we arrived to see a big black fence separating our luxury lodge tent and the refugee camp. Everything was fine during the day, but unfortunately it all changed after dark. From 11pm until 4am we had to put up with constant shouting, loud music, people walking around and talking very loudly and constant partying from the refugees. It became obvious why they sent us the emails now, it's because of all the reviews I can now see online regarding the same issues that lots of other holiday guests have experienced. Security didn't solve our problem, the reception staff did all they could for us in the end. Because it's high season they couldn't move us straight away. We had to endure the torture for 3 nights until they moved us to another lodge tent as they swapped us with other guests before they arrived. I feel sorry for the other guests that ended up in our very loud lodge. I'm now having to take Duinrell to the small claims court to recover the financial lose for 3 days of holiday ruined. For a holiday that cost us over €2300, they have offered an insulting compensation amount of only €230 as an apology. They are receiving money from the government and tourism and doing absolutely nothing to manage the situation. Avoid Duinrell at all costs.
