Last year I went looking for a Lowden guitar. I had been researching many high end American brands of guitar, but the Lowden brand just called me back again and again. I happened upon the website for The Fellowship of Acoustics and carried on a brief email exchange with Rudi Bults and one of his sons who works in the business. I have completed many overseas purchases in the past, both in person and online and have, I think, learned how to spot the good merchants to deal with. I noticed right away that Rudi and his family were very responsive to my questions and concerns. So, the order was placed. When my new Lowden F35 arrived, all seemed just fine. However, a small problem arose months later with a portion of the finish. Lowden guitars are, in my opinion, a work of art and the finish is very important. Rudi had suggested I send the guitar back for examination and remediation. As I did not want to do that George Lowden, Rudi and I agreed upon a local luthier here in the states. The problem is now being resolved. Although, initial impressions are important, it is how a merchant, particularly a long distance merchant, handles any problems that may arise. After some back and forth confusion due to distance and time constraints of all concerned my problem has reached a satisfactory conclusion. My Lowden now is a real keeper as they say. I look forward to being a repeat client with both Lowden Guitars and The Fellowship.

Hallo Rudi, wir kennen uns jetzt seid fast 10 Jahren und ich freue mich immer, wenn ich mal wieder nach zu Dir nach Dedemsvaart (früher Bergenthijm) kommen kann. Dein neuer Laden ist großartig! Wir haben immer super Gespräche geführt, Kaffe getrunken und dabei tolle Geschäfte gemacht ( 1958 LP-Junior, Dobro, Deering Sierrra-Banjo, ES 335, Boogie-Kingsnake). I have purchased and traded several guitars here by phone with total satisfaction. I have visited the company from Ireland and someone picked me up from the train station, found me accomodation and brought me a sandwich lunch while I played guitars. They are a superb company and I would recommend them without question.

With TFOA you will get the whole package. Nice assortment of quality instruments to choose from, great customer experience and competitive prices. Special thanks to Marc who provides fast replies with professional (and honest) answers. I really felt valuable as a customer throughout the whole buying process. When we closed the deal, the guitar reached us in only a few days. Neatly packed with new strings and a nice setup.

Hallo Rudi, du hast mich gut beraten, als du mir die Bourgeois Aged Tone Dreadnought AD-RW und jetzt am Samstag noch die Collings OM 2 HG verkauft hast. Zwei wirklich tolle Gitarren mit unterschiedlichem Klangcharakter. Auch der Besuch in deinem Geschäft in Verbindung mit einem Abstecher nach Amsterdam war eine gute Idee. Toller Laden, sehr nette Betreuung und vor allen Dingen sensationelle Instrumente zur Auswahl. Dass der Service zu 100% passt, ist bei dir Selbstverständlich. Rudi en zijn fantastische kinderen Laura en Coen + de hele Crew doen een uitzonderlijke job binnen een sector waar het kaf amper nog van het koren te onderscheiden is. EN toch maken ZIJ met de TFOA "HET ONDERSCHEID" want hun korenpalmen steken torenhoog boven "het veld" uit, dat is zéker !!!! Ik blijf er nooit meer weg en ondertussen zijn ze al even toonaangevend geworden voor wat Elektrische gitaren betreft, wat ze al langer zijn voor Accoustics ! GOOD JOB Fellows !!!!

Het is voor mij elke keer een feest bij Rudi en zijn 'crew' te komen. Aardige mensen, erg gastvrij en met liefde voor hun vak. Inmiddels al zowel akoestisch als elektrisch heel goed geslaagd; fantastische service. Kortom echt een aanrader; als je eenmaal bij TFOA bent geweest kom je er vaker !

I just received my Lowden S-50c. Packaging is perfect, but the most important is that I am the happiest man on earth. The team is always ready to help. I think I found a gem. I definitely just bought the best European guitar, in Europe, in one of the best guitar stores worldwide Je viens de recevoir ma Lowden S-50c. I'm a professional guitar player and own about 25 guitars. First time buying at The Fellowship of Acoustics and I have to tell I'm very impressed by the peoples who work in this store. I was interested by an acoustic guitar (Lowden 12 strings) they had in store, so I sent a message asking more details of this guitar, and 10 minutes after, I got an answer from Marc. I asked him if they had a video of someone plays this guitar and Marc answered to me "We don't have a video but we will do it for you today". Waouhhh !!! So, one hour after, I received an email from Tom with the Youtube link of the video he just recorded for me. Waouhhh again !!! I asked more questions in an another email and Rudi answered me in the evening at 10pm !!! So I was in a very trusty relationship with all this guys and made the order in the evening. At 11pm, an email from Rudi who told me "Thank's Arnaud and congratulations, the guitar will be send tomorrow". I received also others kind messages from Tom and Coen. I received the Lowden 2 days after and all was perfect, mint condition as described by Marc and on the web site, new strings installed on the guitar, protection behind the strings and the neck, and a very good cardboard box and packaging. Also very fast delivery ! So, this is the first time I buy at this store and probably not the last ! Thank's Rudi, Tom, Coen, and Marc (sorry if I forgot someone !) Arnaud

I cannot recommend TFOA any higher. I am 50 years old, grew up in New York City,and have bought guitars from the old Mannys and Sam Ash ust to name a few. But I will state that I have NEVER had as pleasant and satisfying experience buying guitars than I have with Rudi at TFOA. I have 4 guitars from Rudi and working with him at TFOA is not so much about purchasing an instrument, but about sharing the joy and love of music and finding a great guitar just right for you. He has an amazing selection of guitars to choose from for whatever style of music and sound you are looking for, and he will give you a very fair price. If you can, visit the shop, it is well worth it. Simply the best guitar buying experience I have ever had.
