Bij mijn laptop werkte opeens de keyboardverlichting niet meer. De klantenservice reageerde heel vlot op mijn melding maar we kwamen er niet direct uit. Bij een bezoek 'aan de zaak' werd het probleem toch opgelost al kostte het 2 man een deel van hun lunchpauze.

Ik werk veel met Linux op servers, maar ik heb weinig ervaring met Linux op de desktop. Dat was dus even afwachten. Ik heb uiteindelijk beslist openSUSE Tumbleweed te installeren (i.p.v. Kubuntu wat er origineel op stond). Dat werkt voorlopig goed. Hier en daar wat moeten zoeken om de dingen exact zo in te stellen als ik ze graag heb, dat hoort er bij. Het toetsenbord heeft geen Insert-knop, en de rechts Ctrl werkt niet zoals verwacht. Dat zal wel op te lossen zijn door toetsen te remappen, maar ik heb nog niet uitgezocht exact hoe dat te doen. Een minpuntje wel wat de levering door DHL betreft. Ze konden zogezegd niet leveren op het adres dat ik had opgegeven, hoewel dat een gewoon kantoor is waar heel regelmatig allerlei pakketten geleverd worden, dus heb ik de levering via een service punt moeten laten verlopen. Ook is al de communicatie van DHL uit heel verwarrend. Allemaal heel amateuristisch eigenlijk. Je zou bijna denken dat pakketten afleveren een nevenactiviteit is in plaats van hun core business. Maar goed, dat is jullie fout niet.

Na 20 jaar geleden voor het laatst Linux op een desktop gehad te hebben was het nu tijd voor een nieuwe poging om zonder Microsoft door het leven te gaan. Alles was keurig netjes, plus persoonlijk verzoek voor extra software, geïnstalleerd. Het werkt prima! Alleen, zoals altijd ben ik als een olifant door het besturingssysteem heb gegaan en kwam er achter dat Linux, nog steeds, minder ******proof is dan Windows. Gelukkig bood het mee bestelde usb staafje, jah, Linux-taal, met het installatie bestand nog uitkomst en met tien minuten draaide alles weer!

Op zoek naar een laptop waar vanuit de fabriek geen Windows op staat kwam ik uit bij Laptop met Linux uit Hengelo. Configuratie op de site was lekker simpel en heel tof dat er ook een logo gegraveerd kan worden tegen een schappelijke meerprijs. Levering was super snel en de laptop was zorgvuldig verpakt (3 lagen karton!) Ik koos ervoor om de laptop geheel zonder OS te laten leveren, maar je kunt ook kiezen voor een aardig scala aan Linux-distro's zoals Mint, Ubuntu of Fedora. De casing voelt zeer degelijk aan en de laptop is heerlijk stil bij mijn normale dagelijkse gebruik (mailen, browsen, coden). Zeer blij mee!

De laptop was eenvoudig samen te stellen en binnen 2 dagen thuisbezorgd. De ruime keuze uit verschillende Linux- distributies is ideaal. Dat scheelt weer zelf installeren.

I purchased the laptop and received it just two days later. The TonFang GX4 is stunning, lightweight, and speedy. Equipped with 32GB of RAM and a Ryzen 9 processor, I was able to run the Gemma4 LLM locally with decent performance, which is impressive for an ultrabook. I also played Cyberpunk at FHD resolution using Steam Proton; while not at maximum settings, the experience was surprisingly smooth for such a compact machine. Best of all, it works flawlessly with Linux. I simply transferred my SSD with Manjaro Linux from my old broken laptop to the TonFang, and everything worked right away without needing any driver installations. I am extremely satisfied with this purchase.

This is my first attempt with Linux. Initially, I was very apprehensive considering the differences between Windows and Linux. I left Windows because I refuse to do Windows 11. So far, I have succeeded in my baby steps. I will have to get used to the terminal when GUI doesn't work. It is odd for me not to have an antivirus on my laptop but I will have to get used to that as well. Overall, I think my $2300 purchase of the Tong Fang was worth it. I will have to upgrade the RAM later.

Goed bedrijf, niks mis mee. Vlotte levering, goede en snelle helpdesk, en een bedrijfsvisie waar ik volledig achter kan staan. Mijn keuze viel op de TongFang GX4. Bij het bestellen kun je heel wat opties van de laptop aanpassen: CPU, OS, RAM, SSD, enz. Tot zelfs keuze tussen koelpasta of thermal pads! De laptop ziet er goed uit, voelt goed aan. Toetsenbord en touchpad werken goed, scherm is geweldig. Veel verschillende I/O-poorten. Mijn keuze voor OS ging naar Fedora. Dat draaide heel goed, heel vlot, geen problemen gemerkt. Nadelen: beperkte BIOS/UEFI, en geen fn-lock aanwezig.

Trying my second European-based Linux laptop (some time ago had a US-based one) after the first one being a big disappointment (hardware issues, driver issues, continuous freezes and little to no support). So far it's all gone well and everything works as expected. Fingers crossed for the rest of the journey.

Recently got an NUC 13 Mini Linux for a relative. The NUC 13 is a powerful little package that's well constructed and configured by pros... Moving from Microsoft and Google over to Linux (Linux MATE in this case) is highly recommended to regain one's sovereignty. Highly recommended

Mijn laptop viel net buiten de Windows 11 vereisten. Voor een HP Z book werkstation die 8 jaar geleden zowat het beste van het beste was dat je kon kopen vond ik dat grof. Ik heb bij Laptop met Linux een nieuwe laptop besteld. Dat bleek een GE-WEL-DIG design te zijn. Weegt 1,7 kg, helemaal aluminium, geen enkel logo, full size azerty keyboard maar "reduced size" numeriek keypad zodat ik toch een kleine handige machine heb. Aansluiting voor extra scherm en lader en bekabeld netwerk in het midden achteraan. Een 2560X1600 scherm wat fantastisch is als je van een 1080 scherm komt. En met de hulp van Gemini en de support van Laptop met Linux was de overgang naar Linux Mint een plezier.

I would definitely recommend to anyone who wants a good quality laptop made for your own specific needs that works well and works fast.

I'm a first time customer of Laptop with Linux, and I'm blown away by the customer service and the laptop I received - the Tongfang GX4. Being on the newer side of Linux, Peter very patiently answered my technical questions to make sure the product was a good fit for my needs. With RAM and SSD prices being what they are in 2026, it was so great to be able to order a barebones unit and utilize some existing components. This was a huge savings overall and I'm left with a near perfect experience for the price point. Peter also assured me that spare parts were available if needed down the line, which was a big factor in my decision to purchase. If pressed to suggest an improvement, I would've loved an ANSI version of the keyboard and a user manual on the laptop itself, though I easily sorted the hardware after some quick trial and error. BIOS options are limited, and if you have larger hands the keyboard may not suit you. I'd consider none of these deal-breakers, but nice to know if you're looking at this particular model. For me, this laptop is a great fit for my current needs.
