Nice laptop at a great price

Really nice laptop with Linux pre-installed. Great that there were options to configure your hardware as well as for pre-installing popular software which made the laptop usable out of the box.

Excellent Laptop replaces MacBook Pro

Now that my trusty Apple dealer cannot repair MacBooks anymore themselves I have taken the plunge. Order arrived in the afternoon of the third day as promised here on the other side of NL. I was very positively surprised about the build quality of my new CLEVO N141CU/32GB/1TBNVMe/2TBHDD. It is not a single aliminium block, but that is about all it isn't. It feels very sturdy, metal lid, top and bottom case. A similar MacBook Pro is twice the price, has less ports and cannot be expanded at all. I may go to 64GB and a bigger NVMe in case my research demands that; I run biggish VMs. I can open this laptop up and repair it too in case I spill coffee on it. Laptop for Linux does not void the warranty unless I really break things. Best of all I am no longer hostage of Apple: changing APIs (Little Snitch), software signing (turn off apps) etc etc. Ubuntu runs all I need and more and fast. Laptop met Linux is professional and they keep their promises. I will return.

When I order the laptop, the delivery cost were written.. However a few days later you get an additional letter from UPS, where I need to pay additonal 100.55 CHF..... never again ..next laptop I buy from lenovo online

I'm very sorry but, you are wrong about the UPS invoice for the additional costs of 100.55 CHF for shipping. I will explain... You are a customer in Switzerland. Switzerland is a country which is not part of the European Union (EU). This means that you do not have to pay VAT with us in the Netherlands (which is part of the EU). You bought the product free of VAT from us. Because you are in Switzerland (again not part of the EU), you are importing from abroad. This means that everything you buy outside Switzerland has to be imported into Switzerland. When you import into Switzerland, you will have to pay the VAT and possible import duties to Swiss Customs. UPS's invoice does not include shipping costs, but the customs clearance (VAT and import duties) that UPS has advanced for you to Swiss Customs. You should know how cheap you were able to purchase this laptop in comparison to EU customers. You don't pay us the Dutch 21% VAT, but you only pay the Swiss customs the 8% VAT rate you pay in Switzerland. You are, of course, free to make a purchase from Lenovo next time. It seems fine

Never having used Linux before, I'm on a bit of a learning curve. I'm making progress and have found it useful with some things I could not do on my old (somewhat antiquated) Microsoft desk-top and Apple tablet. I have found personal contact with Peter Pont both easy and helpful.

Easy to configure and order, rapid delivery, great product.

Ordered on a Thursday afternoon, the laptop was delivered to me in the UK on the following Monday. Ordering process was easy, plenty of choice with configuration and the ability to choose pre-installed OS and software is a time-saver. Everything as expected, will happily use again in the future.

Ik ben helemaal blij met Laptopmetlinux!!

Prachtige laptop! En nu heb ik zelf niet eindeloos moeten puzzelen om Ubuntu op mijn computer te krijgen. Echt een geweldige service! Laptopmetlinux heeft alles netjes geregeld volgens de afspraken. Ik had nog een paar vragen over programma's en het installeren van mijn scanner. Dit hebben ze geweldig goed voor mij uitgezocht! Ze krijgen van mij een dikke 10!!

Snel, compleet en deugdelijk geleverd

Laptops en miniPC's aanbieden met alléén maar Linux. Of blanco. Met die insteek staat een leverancier al direct 2-0 voor, wat mij betreft. En dan ook nog eenvoudige configuratiemogelijkheden bieden, het eindproduct deugdelijk verpakt en vlot leveren, en intussen ook netjes statusmeldingen via mail doorgeven. Mailcommunicatie verloopt ook fatsoenlijk en compleet. Alles zoals verwacht mag worden. Ga zo door.

Heel service gericht en snelle levering

Ik vroeg een laptop met een besturingssysteem dat ze niet als keuze aanboden. Ze wilden het wel leveren maar eerst wilden ze testen of het systeem wel met de laptop overweg kon. Goede service vond ik dat. Niet zo maar leveren maar iets leveren dat goed werkt. Klasse.

In alle opzichten een aanrader

Linux specifieke bedrijven zijn vaak geboren uit hobby, en dat merk je vaak. Niet zo bij Laptop met Linux! in alle opzichten een uiterst proffesioneel bedrijf: Prijzen: gewoonweg concurerend met windowsdragende vergelijkbare hardware Levering: snel geleverd met UPS, zeer zorgvuldig verpakt zonder overdreven veel materiaal te gebruiken Service: was een component vergeten te bestellen. Meteen gebeld (op vrijdag avond). Kreeg onmiddelijk iemand aan de lijn die snapte wat er aan de hand was. Meteen werd een order gemaakt voor na-levering (zonder verzendkosten!). Ik ontving het vergeten componentje 2 werkdagen later. Product: een perfect product. De meeste windows laptops zijn weliswaar redelijk goed geschikt voor Linux, maar altijd zijn er wel wat details die niet helemaal goed werken (gedoe met grafics, niet goed ondersteunde key-combo's, bt chips , scherm helderheid, etc..). Bij deze laptops niets van dat. Perfect apparaat!

Trivial mistakes.

A european plug socket was supplied. I ended up using one from the laptop it replaced. Mission failed successfully, as I can now travel with this laptop to the EU.

Snelle levering, alles werkt zoals beloofd

Ik heb gekregen wat ik besteld heb. Spijtig dat de webcam niet werkt (maar dat stond ook nergens vermeld dat er een was) en ik had graag de optie gehad om standaard debian te instaleren maar dan was het waarschijnlijk niet alleen de camera die niet werkte denk ik.

Very helpful, very fast.
