I decided, after 6 years, to hinge the front security panel to my garden bar and investigated the possibility of gas springs. I found the website initially very helpful and indicated that this was a feasible solution to me having to lift the panel on and off every time. I had to modify the panel, to enable hinges being placed and then used the web based calculator. The anchor positions were not straight forward, due to cross members, but I adjusted the suggested positions until a feasible location was attained. I was still a little nervous when ordering, but I worked to the downloaded plan and the struts work almost perfectly. When lifting the panel, it doesn't push all the way to the horizontal, but I easily lift it the last few inches and it stays in place. I am very happy with the result and so is my back. If anything, I must say that I became a little confused at times with some sections of the calculator, but the resulting animation of the movement looked fine, so I was happy to place the order.

What could be simpler than using the gas spring calculator, hit order and get your installation instructions/dimensions with your invoice, prompt dispatch and delivery by a decent courier.

Tried the original supplier for the gas springs but never got a reply so find this company on line and could make my gas springs on there web page almost the correct size but fitted today on my Ace Brooklands boot lid works great.

See below two emails you have not replied to detailing how you appear to have wrongly charged me VAT and did not make me aware of additional chahrges for shipping to Ireland or else didnt know. Your docket which was attached is for £69.02 and includes £21.50 for shipping and £11.50 VAT. As a result I have ended up paying €126 for a €55 gas strut. I find this particularly irritating because - as you will see from the email chain below, I specifically asked about additional charges and understood from your reply that they would be visible at the checkout. I am not sure what can be done at this stage but I would assume you can at least refund UK VAT. I might also suggest that you redirect customers from the Republic of Ireland to one of your sister sites in the EU. I was going to use one of them but understood from your email that additional charges would be visible at check out and given there were none I proceeded to make the purchase.
