Cancelation fee for not confirmed order
I wanted to order bracelets with a logo from this company. After submitting an initial request through the website form, I indicated our required deadline (6 days for production). A manager contacted me and informed me that the selected bracelets were unavailable, but they offered similar ones at a higher price (from another supplier’s warehouse), explaining that this would meet our deadline. I agreed to proceed (meaning I was okay with the price increase for the sake of the deadline), but continued discussing the order. I wanted to change the color of the bracelets.
The manager sent me a design proof for approval with the new color, and at that stage, I had to cancel the order. To clarify, I did not approve the design. No other actions were agreed upon, either verbally or in writing. Additionally, only 2-3 hours passed between the offer of the bracelets from the other warehouse and my order cancellation.
Despite this, I received a cancellation fee, with a note saying that if I refused to pay it, they would send me the full invoice for the work. When I expressed my surprise—asking why this was happening since I hadn’t signed or approved anything—I was told that during our discussions, they had already sent the bracelets from the warehouse to the printing house and prepared everything for printing! Now they needed to return the items to the warehouse and handle the returned stock.
I reiterated that I hadn’t signed off on the start of work or the design approval, but the company employees no longer seemed to care. I began receiving emails asking me to "confirm my agreement to pay the cancellation fee, or they would continue with my order, and I would have to pay for the services in full."
So draw your own conclusions. It turns out that I have to pay for something unclear.
