Poor Operations
I have placed 2 orders with Meat Boys over a period of 1 year. First order was placed weeks before delivery for an important dinner and I was informed less than 24 hours prior to delivery that the product isn't available and won't be for 2 weeks. Needless to say, I wasn't happy and we scrambled to find a solution.
I waited nearly a year to try their service again. This time ordering items I didn't need urgently. They delivered on time but sent items well below the weight I had ordered and paid for. Eg: I paid for 2 maminha of 1.4kg each - I received 1-840g and 1-980g. The Flank steaks I ordered were well below the weight I paid for them. Worst part, one of the maminha was produced and packed 1 year prior to delivery. All health organizations around the world state that meat should be consumed within 1 year of freezing. I am forced to now defrost the meat immediatly and see if it's even worth eating.
The only reason for an exta half star: they did reply back and offered partial refund based on the weight difference.
There are many online butchers in NL so it's shocking this organization continues to exist with such poor quality of product and operation standards. I will most certainly not bother trying again - they failed one too many times. Best to stay clear.
EDIT: Updated rating from 1.5 to 3.5. Meat Boys reached out and offered a replacement for the meat with the long production date. They also sent along a couple of extra steaks for the trouble. I hope in the future, they pay close attention to the products which are being shipped out. As a customer, when I order a specific size/weight of meat, it's because I need that specific size (give or take a little). Sending wrong size and then offering refunds later doesn't solve the initial problem and can be very inconvient.
Extra points for good customer service but still improvement needed in logistics to avoid these issues. Unfortunately, this happened to me twice - hopefully just bad luck.
