Style over substance, sadly
I desperately wanted this wardrobe to work out... I liked the look of it and the size was ideal.
I was impressed by the ordering process, it was very easy. Too easy infact, it was a one click purchase, and I accidentally ordered the wrong one at first, but was able to cancel it via their WhatsApp support.
Ordered the right one next time. It came delivered on time :) So far so good?
First surprise: The 3 packages were INCREDIBLY heavey... I dont understand why **** wood has to be so heavy.
Second surprise: There about 900 screws and pieces for this JIGSAW!
I have put together some complex IKEA stuff before but this was by far the most complex. With 2 men, it took us 2 hours per day, 3 days of work... so thats 12 man hours.
Why?
Instructions are very small and on loose cheap printed paper, making it difficult to see details.
Pieces of wood are very similar yet different and we had to work hard to work out which is which.
Most importantly, some of the holes in the wood and the draw sliders did not match the instructions
Sadly, the chip-board-veneer is lower quailty than IKEA. This means that it chips off very easily - there were some minor damages upon opening the package before we even started is how fragile the veneer is. And as soon as you screw a screw in tight ( with hands ) more veneer chips off. Still, none of this was a big problem... yet.
The main structure of the wardrobe was at least strong and stable, especially after we screwed the back on with 81 freestyle ( unguided ) screws, using my DIY equipment!
The very cheap manufacturing became apparent with the draws. The draw sliders are really basic. The guide holes for the sliders ( which NEED precision !) were not properly made, and only 2 of the 3 mentioned in instructions were even there per slider. Also the screws do not fit exactly into the holes of the sliders, leaving room for randomness.
So it was no surprise at all that after the entire 12 hour process was up and we had the doors and everything in place... we put the draw in and it does not fit... just bumps against the mirror door. Unusable and very distressing after all this time to construct it so carefully as possible.
I complained via WhatsApp and was offered instructions how to adjust the door... which we did but it still did not fix the problem.
So was offered further, increasingly complex ways to fix the door problem but not the draws. At this point, I have spent more time on it than I have to spare. A good company would send someone round to fix it or offer a refund of some of the cost for the unreasonable time its taking.
